What is Sildenafil (Viagra)?

Sildenafil is the most well-known of the PDE5 inhibitors with public use going on for over 15 years and counting.

This means that a lot is known about the effectiveness and possible side effects. Taking effect quickly often within one hour, it has an effective range of four to six hours.

Sildenafil was developed and initially marketed by Pfizer, and up until 2013, the patent expired. Since then, generics have flooded the market under its generic name instead of the brand name Viagra.

What is Vardenafil (Levitra)?

Levitra will last for a similar amount of time as Viagra (four to six hours).

The main difference Vardenafil tends to be less affected by food or alcohol so that it can be taken with meals.

There is also some evidence that it is more effective in people with diabetes than other PDE5 inhibitors.

What is Tadalafil (Cialis)?

The effects of tadalafil are the same, but it will last much longer than other PDE5 drugs. This gives it a significant advantage among men, thereby reducing the need to plan sexual encounters.

The risk is that side effects if they are present, will last longer as well.

Different erectile dysfunction work differently for each subject. While a particular PDE5 may not work for some, it may not work for others.
